The Fight Against Child Abuse

Don't Be Afraid To Save A innocent Child
They cry out at home, in the store, or the car down the street alone!. They are innocent cought up in a adults world who does not deserve them!. ''Innocent children all over the world who suffer pain, torture, abuse, rape, and torment. These children need protection so don't be afraid to contact the athorites when you see a child who has been obviously beaten call CPS Child Protective Services.. ''We need to change our laws on child abuse, when a child is beaten to the point of death it should be written law that the person responsible should get the death penalty!. The first time should be the last time in my opinion because what messege are we sending to our children that they are less important?. ''Where is the justice for poor baby (Brianna Mariah Lopez) and all the children all over who have suffered and died!. Everytime a child dies from abuse everyone who new them suffers, who ever cared and their life is forever changed!. Be a angel to the innocent children and a protector of those who can not always speak for themselves. If you see abuse call the cops or 911 don't just pretend all is okay and turn your head and walk away!. ''The price you will pay will be remembered by that little innocent kid someday!. If you see something and you are not sure what to do just remember mistakes are part of life and can be forgiven and changed, however a childs death can never be changed, so don't walk away do what your heart tells you and let a innocent child be saved!. If you mess up and it turns out you were wrong its okay because their is no harm in caring. Just remember to think the wrong thing is not as bad as to walk away from a child when abuse is suspected!. Sign's of abuse include:

1. Brusies in different stages of healing.
2. Bite marks over different area's of the body.
3. Burn marks.
4. A child who is not bathed and feed enough and says they are hungery all the time.
5. A child who seems like they have no confidence.
6. A child who is constantly looking for love from others or prasie.
InnocentBe a angel and someone who cares and put everything on the line, don't be afraid to do something. All mistakes can be forgiven however a childs life cannot be brought back, so when in doubt think about that!.

Child Abuse

Did You Know, that 5 children die every day from abuse in the US? And 4 die every day in the UK? Every year 3.3 million reports of child abuse are made in the United States involving nearly 6 million children (a report can include multiple children).

A report of child abuse is made every ten seconds.

Approximately 80% of children that die from abuse are under the age of 4.

Child Abuse continues to be a world wide problem with devastating effects. It occurs at all backgrounds, every socioeconomic level, across ethnic and cultural lines, within all religions and at all levels of education.

Child Abuse "is doing something or failing to do something that results in harm to a child or puts a child at risk of harm. Child abuse can be physical, sexual or emotional. Neglect, or not providing for a child's needs, is also a form of abuse."

(Excerpted from the ChildHelp Website)

Forms of Child Abuse

Physical abuse

Any non-accidental injury to a child. This includes hitting, kicking, slapping, shaking, burning, pinching, hair pulling, biting, choking, throwing, shoving, whipping, and paddling.

Sexual abuse

Any sexual act between an adult and child. This includes fondling, penetration, intercourse, exploitation, pornography, exhibitionism, child prostitution, group sex, oral sex, or forced observation of sexual acts.

Neglect

Failure to provide for a child’s physical needs. This includes lack of supervision, inappropriate housing or shelter, inadequate provision of food and water, inappropriate clothing for season or weather, abandonment, denial of medical care and inadequate hygiene.

Emotional abuse

Any attitude or behavior which interferes with a child’s mental health or social development. This includes yelling, screaming, name-calling, shaming, negative comparisons to others, telling them they are “bad, no good, worthless” or “a mistake.” It also includes the failure to provide the affection and support necessary for the development of a child’s emotional, social, physical and intellectual well-being. This includes ignoring, lack of appropriate physical affection (hugs), not saying “I love you,” withdrawal of attention, lack of praise and lack of positive reinforcement.

If you know or suspect that a child is being abused, please contact your local authorities or call the child abuse hotline in your country. It is too late for Brianna, but there are many other children who are hurt every day by the same persons who are suppose to care for them.

Someone Else...

She had stopped off at the grocery store,
Worn and tired from the stress of the day.
The lines were too long, the cashier was too slow,
She was anxious to be on her way.
A little boy stood behind her,
Upon his cheek an awful bruise.
He caught her gaze with sad, pleading eyes...
but she thought someone else would report the abuse.
She was far too behind that day, and dinner would be late.
Important errands that had to be done,
Tasks that just couldn't wait.
The bank, the pharmacy, the post office,
Too much that needed done...
Someone else must notice this, she couldn't be the only one!
Taking her change and grabbing her bags she looked back at him in line,
"Someone else will help you," she thought, "today I don't have time."
She thought of him as she drove home...
"Maybe he just had a bad fall..."
She lied to herself to ease her mind,
"Probably wasn't abuse after all!"
Later on that evening her chores complete,
Little ones tucked into bed...
She turned on the news as the anchorman announced:
"A Local Boy Is Dead".
The tears rolled down her cheeks as she bowed her head to pray...
"Oh dear God what have I done? How could I have just turned away?"
And all across her city, others fell to their knees,
Asking for forgiveness for ignoring the boy on TV.
He had silently begged each one of them for help,
on the streets and in the mall,
But each and everyone of them thought...
"Someone else will make the call."
